GTQF in Portugal: Advocating for Youth, Justice & Sustainable Action.

From December 20 to December 23, 2024, the Grown Too Quick Foundation (GTQF) made its mark on the global stage at the World Youth Forum in Porto, Portugal. Representing the GTQF’s mission of restoring hope to underprivileged children and young people, Mada, a dedicated GTQF team member, was not only a participant but also a speaker at this meaningful conference, which brought together youth leaders from over 90 countries. With reference to the GRADE model developed at the University of St Andrews, Mada’s speech focused on how illicit financial flows impact child rights, otherwise known as “survival rights.” The remarks can be accessed on LinkedIn HERE

The World Youth Forum is more than just a gathering—it is a platform for action. For GTQF, participating in this global conversation reinforced the incredible potential of Malawian young people to drive change locally and globally. Mada’s presence in Portugal reminds us that youth are not just the future; they are the now.

At the forum, we:
Advocated for children’s rights on a global stage.
Engaged in dialogues on sustainable development, equity, and youth empowerment.
Explored solutions to protect vulnerable children and create environments where young people can thrive—no matter who, no matter where, and no matter what.

The forum highlighted the urgent need for diplomacy and collaboration in tackling youth challenges worldwide. By engaging with passionate changemakers, policymakers, and activists, GTQF strengthened its commitment to fostering an equitable and just world.

A special appreciation goes to @GRADE at the University of St Andrews team for standing with and for children and young people. And for sponsoring Mada’s trip to Portugal. Support like this fuels our mission and ensures that the voice of the underserved is represented and heard.
