GTQF Launches Poultry Farm to Sustain Its Mission for Children and Youth …Welcomes New Farm Managing Director to Strengthen Community Impact.

The Grown Too Quick Foundation (GTQF) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Managing Director, Mr Gift Malopamoyo, for its newly launched poultry farm, marking an important step in the Foundation’s commitment to building sustainable, community-driven solutions that improve the lives of children and young people in Malawi.

The poultry farm represents GTQF’s commitment to exploring innovative ways of mobilising resources for charitable work. By investing in an income-generating enterprise, the Foundation aims to strengthen its capacity to support vulnerable children and young people while reducing its reliance on traditional funding sources.

Alongside managing the poultry farm, the new farm manager will also serve as GTQF’s Community Impact Officer, connecting the Foundation’s enterprise with the needs of the communities it serves.

Working at the grassroots level, the Community Impact Officer will help identify children, young people and communities facing significant challenges and recommend areas where GTQF’s outreach and charitable interventions can make a meaningful difference.

This dual role reflects an important principle behind GTQF’s approach. Thus, sustainable development requires not only resources, but also a strong understanding of the people those resources are intended to serve. By maintaining a direct connection with communities, GTQF seeks to ensure that its charitable initiatives respond to real needs and create opportunities for those who are most vulnerable.

We warmly welcome our new colleague to the GTQF team and look forward to the leadership, dedication and community engagement he will bring to this initiative.

Gift Malopa Moyo, Poultry farm manager & Community Impact

An Investment in Enterprise, an Investment in People
The poultry farm is small-scale and has been established through 100% investment by GTQF’s co-founders, demonstrating their personal commitment to the Foundation’s mission and their belief in developing sustainable mechanisms to finance social impact.

Under the initiative’s funding model, 51% of the farm’s proceeds will be channeled directly towards charitable causes benefiting children and young people while 49% will cater operational costs and reinvested.

The proceeds are intended to help support GTQF’s charitable work, including initiatives that address vulnerability, promote educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, and strengthen young people’s pathways towards a more secure future.

By reinvesting a substantial share of the farm’s proceeds into charitable causes, GTQF is working towards a model in which enterprise becomes a practical means of sustaining its social mission.

The Impact Behind the Initiative
Across Malawi, many children and young people continue to face challenges linked to poverty, limited educational opportunities and economic insecurity. Organisations working to address these challenges often depend on grants and donations, which can be unpredictable and insufficient to meet growing community needs.

GTQF believes that developing complementary sources of income can help build greater resilience and continuity in its charitable work. The poultry farm is one step towards that ambition. It combines local enterprise with a clear social purpose; generating resources that can be reinvested in children and young people. It also creates an opportunity to demonstrate how locally driven investment can contribute to community development when financial sustainability is linked to a defined charitable mission.

We invite partners and supporters to join us in growing this initiative and helping ensure that more children and young people inherit possibilities, not poverty.
