“The future belongs to us; we must participate in shaping it!”

The Grown Too Quick Foundation (GTQF) launched the “Youthful & Useful!” initiative and organised a rally to raise SDG awareness and a call to action. This project aims to empower young people to become active change-makers in their communities. Through a collaboration with the Thyolo District Council, GTQF led an awareness campaign highlighting the pivotal role of youth in promoting and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The initiative, fueled by a Youth Service Fund grant from Young People’s Ministries of the United Methodist Church, is not just a campaign—it’s a movement inspiring Malawian youth to take ownership of their future by addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges. From climate action and quality education to environmental sustainability and health promotion, young people are proving that they are not just beneficiaries of development but key drivers of change.

Youth at the Forefront of Sustainable Action
Watch the Founder, Mr Francis Nkhoma, leading the rally here 👉Youthful&Useful. During the campaign, young people enthusiastically championed SDG-focused actions, holding banners with messages such as:

“Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”—advocating for responsible consumption and environmental protection.
“One Tree for One Chance to Save the Earth”—emphasising afforestation as a crucial response to climate change.
“Quality Education for All”—reinforcing the importance of equitable education access.
“Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions”—calling for inclusive and fair societies.
These messages reflect the commitment of Malawian youth to solutions that create lasting impact.

The Power of Partnerships & Collaboration
The support of Young People’s Ministries and a collaboration between GTQF, Thyolo District Council, and local youth groups demonstrate the effectiveness of multi-stakeholder engagement in tackling development challenges. By equipping young people with the necessary knowledge and resources, GTQF is nurturing a generation that is proactive, solution-oriented, and ready to lead.
“Our youth are the heartbeat of Malawi’s future. When we empower them with the right tools and opportunities, we create a ripple effect of positive change,” says Mada D. Nkhoma, a passionate youth advocate and grant recipient of the Youth Service Fund.

A Call to Action
To scale up the impact of “Youthful & Useful!”, more partnerships are vital. We invite individuals, philanthropies and organisations to join us in fostering a youth-led sustainable development movement.

Join us! Let us invest in young people together, strengthen their leadership, and build a Malawi where every youth is both youthful and useful!
