A-Student-NOT-A-Mother: GTQF’s Commitment to Girls’ Education and Empowerment.

For many young girls, the education journey is not just about classrooms and textbooks—it is a battle against deeply rooted challenges that threaten their future. The Grown Too Quick Foundation (GTQF) recently walked alongside one such girl; every child deserves a second chance.
At just 13 years old, a promising young student herein referred to as “Victoria” found herself pregnant and out of school, a reality that, for many girls in Malawi, marks the end of their education and the beginning of a lifetime of hardships. The worst case is forced and premature marriages, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. But the GTQF refused to let Victoria’s story end there. Recognising that young mothers need support, not stigma, the organisation stepped in, helping her raise her child while ensuring she returned to school. Through mentorship, advocacy, psychosocial counselling, and financial assistance, she was able to rebuild her confidence and continue her education through her first year of secondary school.
Unfortunately, due to limited resources, the GTQF could not sustain its financial support further. This heartbreaking reality is a reminder of the extra barriers girls face compared to their male counterparts—barriers that include early pregnancies, forced marriages, lack of financial support, and gender-based discrimination in education.
The GTQF calls upon partners, donors, and advocates to join hands in ensuring that no girl is left behind in the pursuit of education and overall sustainable development. Your in-kind support can help provide scholarships, mentorship, and essential resources to keep girls in school and empower them to achieve their dreams. U$250 can pay for secondary education for 1 student for the whole year, while U$5 can buy school stationery.
